Costume Rentals
Most dance studios require all students to purchase costumes for each dance they are performing in.
This can quickly add up to a sizeable amount for a student in 5-10 dances. Students attending those studios usually wind up with a closet full of costumes they wore for one show and maybe one or two Halloweens. So, the $15.00 rental fee is a great bargain and is a requirement for students participating in our recitals. Participating in our recitals is not required but is a major part of the performing arts experience and therefore is highly recommended and well worth the meager investment. All our students have a "Basic Attire" requirement for classes. These items must be purchased by the families for the students:
Girls-Pre-Ballet students should wear any pink leotard (without attached skirt or shorts), pink tights, and pink canvas or leather ballet shoes. Hair should be in a bun and students should not wear any loose jewelry (stud earrings are okay).
Ballet Level I and up should wear any black leotard (with no attached skirt or shorts), pink tights and pink canvas or leather ballet shoes. Hair should be in a bun and students should not wear any loose jewelry (stud earrings are okay).
This way they have a 'uniform look' for classes which also serves as a basis for adding skirts and/or tops to create a costume for performance. We also have many complete costumes for students of all ages which may have cost the school $50-$200.00 and up for each costume initially. Obviously, we must use these costumes several times to get a return on our investment, while you get an instant savings. By offering our costumes as a rental, we save our families a lot of money which they can invest in more important things - like more dance classes! And since our tuition pricing structure with generous discounts for multiple classes is also more favorable than most other studios, this policy along with our high-quality training makes our program the most family friendly financially and experientially to be found anywhere! Note: Adult students are not required to participate in recitals and would have the costume and recital fees waived, but may occasionally they be invited to participate in a show and would have those fees applied in those cases.
